Preparing for and recording this song was probably some of the most fun I had on the entire album. One of those reasons was getting to play the ukulele.:) The main reason was singing a duet with Lindsay Lou. Somewhere in the songwriting process I thought a duet would serve this song well, but it was not until we got together the night before heading into the studio that it took shape. Truth be told, it really took place the next day in the studio after Lindsay sat with the song overnight and brought her ideas and style to the track. It was in that moment that the back and forth nature of the duet came together in the second verse. The words and the song itself really found a sweet spot after that. My hope is that our communities might find that same sweet spot where love wins and triumphs over all things.
